Pieridae Research
Together with the Maastricht Science Program of Maastricht University, I have conducted research into the role of the host plant in the butterfly family Pieridae. What influence does the host plant play in the life of the butterfly’s cycle. What effects do the different coals have on the color of the
meconium of the Pieridae. We found that the red cabbage has toxins that slow down the transformation process. This automatically means that a different color of meconium will appear.
