Cyanotype

The garden around my studio is designed to attract butterflies and other insects. From early spring to autumn, the moths and insects present regularly seek out light sources. As a result, they often get stuck in the lamps in and around the house. I collect the insects that remain behind in the lamps.
These form a blueprint of the insects present in the studio garden. The work ‘Lux’ is made by cyanotype. The same light source of where the insects were found are used to create the cyanotype. The series of works continues to grow every year.
